Our mental health is just as important as our physical health. It's not just what we are eating or how often we exercise that matters. If we are not mentally healthy, it's going to be more difficult to be motivated and have the energy to practice living a healthy life. It's about balance and moderation, and knowing your limits. Sometimes we don't take the time we need for ourselves and we become over-worked, stressed, and lazy, which leads to poor mental health. I found this article, "12 Ways We Sabotage Our Mental Health," and I really enjoyed it because it gives tips on how to improve our mental health, which in turn will help improve our physical health.
Today, I think we are too focused on constantly being connected, especially via social media, that we waste a lot of valuable time that we could be using to be productive, or just relaxing and doing things we enjoy. We need to stop looking at life through a screen. We get so focused on other people's lives and all kinds of drama that goes on that has nothing to do with our own lives, that we don't focus on ourselves the way we should. Think of all the time that would be saved if you scrolled through Facebook and/or Instagram once a day, rather than 8 times a day. It's distracting and not healthy! Moderation is key!
